The Ecocenter 'Dront' carried out a number of projects to bring attention to the ecological issues of Nizhny Novgorod, including interactive maps and videos, held annual 'Protect' initiative to clean the banks of the Khloma River, shot videos about ways to prevent illegal tree felling, published interviews and informational materials about environmental law and the environmental agenda.

'Dront' was recognised as a 'foreign agent' after an inspection by the Ministry of Justice, which revealed that the organisation had foreign sources of funding. 'In particular, 500 rubles of donations received in February of this year from the public organization 'Bellona-Murmansk', which also has the status of an NCO-foreign agent, were recognized as foreign funds'.
