According to the employees of the Russian movement “Open Russia”, the Otkrytaya Rossia organization registered in the UK was recognized as "undesirable" in order to restrict the activities of the same name organization operating in Russia . At the same time, activists say that these two organizations are unrelated. According to Mikhail Khodorkovsky, the announcement of the protest action "Tired", in which participants asked Vladimir Putin not to run for president again in 2018, was the reason for assigning the status of an "undesirable organization".
