One of the organisers of a rally against the mass removal and slaughter of livestock in villages across Novosibirsk Region, Sergei Krupenko, was detained by law enforcement officers on his way to the event. This was reported by the Russian Communist Party.
According to the Telegram channel, Krupenko is being taken to the Central Police Department, where he had previously been summoned for 10:00 under a formal notice. By that time, his lawyer, Vasily Dubkov, had arrived at the police station, but no one came out to speak with him.
11:32 A report was filed against Sergei Krupenko for organising a rally (Article 20.2, Part 8 of the Administrative Offences Code), and he has been detained for 48 hours pending trial. This was reported by the Russian Communist Party. The grounds for the report was a rally on 1 March against the mass slaughter of livestock, which Krupenko allegedly organised in Novosibirsk, a major city in Siberia.
- Throughout March, Siberian farmers have been protesting against the mass euthanasia of cows, sheep, goats and pigs. Despite resistance, the killing of animals continues. Since February, over two thousand head of livestock have been destroyed.
