Human Rights Center 'Memorial', the interregional public organization, is a part of the historically-educational and charitable human rights society 'Memorial'. As part of its human rights work, the organization has launched the programs 'Support for Political Prisoners', which provides legal and financial assistance to victims of politically motivated persecution; 'Migration and Law', which provides free legal assistance to refugees and migrants; 'Hot Spots', which conducts research on violations of human rights and international humanitarian law in conflict zones, including the North Caucasus and Eastern Ukraine; 'Central Asia', whose main focus is monitoring political and religious persecution in the region, and 'Protection of human rights using international mechanisms', which prepares and submits complaints to the European Court of Human Rights and monitors execution of decisions of the ECHR on the territory of the Russian Federation.
