The “Sakharov Center” is primarily an educational platform where the topical social, political and ethical issues have been discussed for more than 20 years. The project participants preserve and develop the legacy of Academician Sakharov, protect the historical memory of the totalitarian Soviet regime and promote the values of freedom, democracy and human rights. The center hosts discussions, public lectures, seminars, film screenings and memorial evenings, photo-historical and art exhibitions; there as well works a library of books about the modern history of Russia and the legacy of Academician Sakharov.
