On January 30, 2015, he was taken to the investigator's office from the court session where his administrative offense during the protests on December 5th, 2014 was considered; before the court session, he was under 15-day administrative arrest, which expired just on January 30. The case was started for repeated violation of the rules for holding mass events; on February 3, he was sent to house arrest; on December 7, he was sentenced to three years in a general regime colony; on March 31, 2016, the court of second instance reduced the term to two and a half years. On January 30, 2015, he was taken to the investigator's office from the court session where his administrative offense during the protests on December 5th, 2014 was considered; before the court session, he was under 15-day administrative arrest, which expired just on January 30. The case was started for repeated violation of the rules for holding mass events; on February 3, he was sent to house arrest; on December 7, he was sentenced to three years in a general regime colony; on March 31, 2016, the court of second instance reduced the term to two and a half years. After the verdict came into force, Dadin was transferred to St. Petersburg, where he was kept in a pre-trial detention center for longer than the legally required period of time without being sent to a prison, and then taken back to Moscow, where he was interrogated as a witness in a case of incitement to hatred on social media; he was transferred to a colony in Karelia, from where he later reported that he and other prisoners had been tortured; in 2017, Dadin was transferred to a colony in Altai Krai; Dadin's defense filed a complaint against Article 212.1 of the Criminal Code with the Constitutional Court, which considered that the article does not contradict the Constitution, but should be applied in cases where a person's actions pose a real danger; the Constitutional Court recommended reconsidering Dadin's sentence; on February 22, 2017, the Supreme Court ruled to overturn the sentence and release Ildar Dadin; on February 26, Dadin was released from prison.
