Yulia Podoynitsyna

A resident of the Trans-Baikal Territory, a soloist of a military orchestra. She was prosecuted for spreading deliberately false information about the Russian Armed Forces because in the orchestra's internal programme forum, where participants' activities were reported, she tried to prove to her fellow servicemen that civilians were being killed in Ukraine. Podoynitsyna uploaded a YouTube video on the topic to the servicemen. After a few minutes, she deleted the video, but a fellow serviceman took his phone to a counterintelligence officer at the military unit and told him about the argument. The video was restored. Podoynitsyna was on recognizance not to leave. In November 2024, the case was referred to the court. On 9 December, the servicewoman was sentenced to a fine of 300 thousand rubles.
