The Jamestown Foundation is an American non-governmental research organization, founded in 1984. Glen Howard became its leader. The fund’s governing board includes former U.S. national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski and former CIA director James Woolsey. After the collapse of the USSR, the fund’s activity declined. The revitalization of the fund began with the coming to power of George W. Bush.

The foundation currently publishes three newsletters and one weekly newspaper.

"The Jamestown Foundation" was recognized as an "undesirable" organization, since, according to the decision of the Prosecutor General's Office, its activities are aimed at inciting ethnoseparatism in the national republics of Russia. The Prosecutor General's Office also suspected the foundation of paying too much attention to the regions of the North Caucasus and of purposefully promoting the idea of changing the territorial structure of Russia.
