Four residents of Stavropol Krai have been sentenced to prison due to performing the Lezginka dance

Four residents of Stavropol Krai have been sentenced to terms ranging from one year to one year and six months in an open prison colony for desecrating symbols of Russia’s military glory (Part 4 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by the regional prosecutor’s office press service.

According to investigators, in December 2023, the defendants “desecrated a monument” with a mass grave in the village of Grushevskoye, in the Aleksandrovsky district. The pro-law enforcement channel “No to Extremism!” clarifies that the accused danced the lezginka next to the monument.

The initiation of the case became known in December 2023.
