A criminal case has been opened against a 48-year-old resident of Abakan, a city in southern Siberia, over the rehabilitation of Nazism online (Part 4, Article 354.1 of the Russian Criminal Code). RIA Novosti reports this.

According to investigators, the individual posted on their social media page, in which the authorities claim they expressed a negative view of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War. Court linguistic and historical examinations have been ordered in the case.

In 2021, the man was given a suspended sentence of one and a half years in a case concerning public calls online for extremist activity.
