In Yevpatoria, in Russia-annexed Crimea, 65-year-old Yevgeny Nenko was detained for pro-Ukrainian slogans on benches, reported local media, citing the denunciation-focused channel “Crimean SMERSH.”
Among the slogans the man had written were: “Glory to Ukraine,” “You messed up in Afghanistan, you’ll mess up in Ukraine,” “Occupiers, traitors, get out of Ukraine.” According to the informants, a criminal case for vandalism (part 1, article 214 of the Criminal Code) has been brought against him. In a recorded apology, Nenko says he came to Yevpatoria from the “Luhansk People’s Republic” because his city had been destroyed.
