A criminal case has been initiated against Moscow activist Ruslan Matveev under the article on repeated discrediting of the Russian army (Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code). His sister informed OVD-Info about this.

The man was sent a summons for questioning and is considered a suspect. The activist is currently outside Russia. Matveev believes the case may have been initiated because of “deleted Facebook posts and a conflict with a neighbour who’s a participant in the war in Ukraine.”

In April 2022, Matveev was detained on Red Square with a yellow and blue placard reading “PEACE,” and in August that same year, he was taken to a police station after being stopped in the metro using surveillance cameras.
