Protocol reports have been filed against eight residents of Altai due to a protest held on 12 June at the Chike-Taman Pass in Ongudaysky District, reported the republic’s prosecutor’s office.
The residents were protesting against the abolition of local self-government and the appointment of former State Duma deputy Alexander Prokopyev as head of the Altai government. Law enforcement identified two of them as organisers of an unauthorised event involving road blocking (Part 3, Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences), while six others were treated as participants (Part 6.1, Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences).
10:43 The Ongudaysky District Court received protocol reports for Yevgeny Tarbayev and Maksim Kukhaev as organisers of the protest, and for Amadu Yakshimaev, Ayas Didrukov, Gennady Taylonov, Mikhail Yeldoshev, Yuri Bochkyn and Radion Bashpakov as participants, noted “Mediazona.”
19:27 The Ongudaysky District Court handed down sentences of 13–14 days of administrative detention to those detained, under articles for organising an unauthorised event with a road blockage (Part 3, Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences) and for participating in it (Part 6.1, Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences). This was reported by the press service of the regional office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to “7×7,” citing a local activist, at least three people received administrative detention, and another was fined 12,000 rubles (approx. US$135).
