On 20 May, Igor Markov, a resident of Dimitrovgrad, a city in the Ulyanovsk region, was sentenced to a fine of 300,000 roubles (approx. US$3,300) over money transfers to the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK). The press release from the Dimitrovgrad City Court was reported on by Mediazona.

Markov was found guilty of financing extremism (Part 1, Article 282.3 of the Criminal Code). He was accused of making seven donations from August 2021 to February 2022.

Since 26 February, Markov had been under restrictions on certain activities, and on 11 March he was included in Rosfinmonitoring’s list of extremists.

The convicted person is 29 years old. Mediazona notes that he had previously been the founder of two dairy product sales companies and the director of a construction company.
