The Ministry of Justice has added the UK-based “Global Network of Sex Work Projects” and the Cyprus-based “Democratic Community of Russians in Cyprus” to the list of “undesirable organisations.” This is according to an update on the ministry’s website.
The Prosecutor General’s Office declared both organisations “undesirable” on 30 May.
The “Global Network of Sex Work Projects” focuses on protecting sex workers’ rights, including their right to legal protection, health, protection from discrimination, and freedom of movement and employment. The organisation was founded in 1990 in Edinburgh.
The “Democratic Community of Russians in Cyprus” names as its aims ending Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, supporting Russian political prisoners and uniting Russians living in Cyprus.
