A resident of the Nizhny Novgorod region has been fined 400,000 roubles (US$4,400) for donating 700 roubles (US$8) to the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK).

The Kstovo City Court of Nizhny Novgorod Region on 30 May sentenced 28-year-old Ivan Egorushkin to a fine of 400,000 roubles (US$4,400) for financing an extremist organisation (Part 1, Article 282.3 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by Mediazona.

Egorushkin was accused of making donations to the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) between 6 August 2021 and 6 February 2022. According to investigators, the Kstovo resident transferred a total of 700 roubles (US$8) to the foundation.

Egorushkin admitted guilt and was under a travel restriction order.
