The 2nd Eastern District Military Court in Chita has sentenced a resident of Irkutsk region to six years in a general regime penal colony for incitement to terrorism (Part 2, Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code) and incitement to extremism (Part 2, Article 280 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by the press service of the Transbaikal Territory Prosecutor’s Office.
The man is also banned from engaging in public activity online for four years and six months.
According to the investigation, from April 2023 to June 2024, the Irkutsk resident posted comments on a video hosting site and on social media calling for violence against Russian military personnel and members of various nationalities.
13:20 The press service did not give a name, but it is likely referring to Pavel Zubov. He is charged with four counts of incitement to extremism and one count of incitement to terrorism. The court delivered the verdict on 24 June.
It is not known exactly when the criminal case was initiated against him. In August 2024, the man was added to Rosfinmonitoring’s “register of terrorists and extremists.”
