Alexander Germizin, a supporter of Duntsova from Vladimir Oblast, has been transferred to Penal Colony No. 4 in Vyazniki. This was reported by the “Support for Political Prisoners. Memorial” project.
In February, the 2nd District Military Court in Moscow sentenced Germizin to two years in a penal colony over charges of publicly justifying terrorism (Part 2 Article 205.2 of the Russian Criminal Code).
The opening of the case against Germizin became known in October 2024. At that time, he was sent to a pre-trial detention centre (SIZO). According to investigators, in October 2022, Germizin published a number of messages in several Telegram chats. These posts were allegedly intended to “incite an indefinite circle of people to carry out terrorist activity,” namely, to organise the bombing of government buildings.
Alexander Germizin is 48 years old. He held the post of secretary of the congress of the Vladimir regional branch of the unregistered “Rassvet” party, founded by Ekaterina Duntsova.
After Germizin’s arrest, Duntsova stated that the case “has no relation to participation in the party” Rassvet, and promised to provide him with “any legal assistance she could.”
