The Tyumen District Court has remanded in custody Mikhail T., a 65-year-old resident of Novy Urengoy (a major city in the Yamalo-Nenets region of northern Russia), on charges of justifying terrorism (part 1, article 205.2 of the Criminal Code), reports the joint press service of the courts of Tyumen Oblast.
The pretrial restriction has been set until 19 August.
According to investigators, in June 2025, while at a restorative medicine and rehabilitation centre in Tyumen Oblast, the man “spoke in support of the Ukrainian authorities, showed videos of explosions targeting transport infrastructure in Crimea, Bryansk and Kursk regions, and voiced approval of the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
