Heritage protection activist and former municipal deputy from St Petersburg, Vladimir Zhuravlyov, has been placed under house arrest on charges of spreading “fake news” about the army motivated by hatred (paragraph “d,” part 2, article 207.3 of the Russian Criminal Code). This was reported by the press service of St Petersburg’s courts.
The preventive measure was ordered by the Petrodvortsovy District Court of St Petersburg.
On 26 June, officers searched his home and seized his electronic devices. The criminal case was triggered by three posts about the war published in April 2022 in the “City of Oranienbaum” group on VKontakte.
