The Northern Fleet Military Court has sentenced an 18-year-old resident of Arkhangelsk, a city in north-western Russia, to five years in prison in a case involving incitement to terrorism. The verdict was reported by the Investigative Committee for Arkhangelsk Region.

The agency published a video showing the young woman answering questions. On camera, she stated that Russian citizens had never cared about her and that Russia had caused her many “mental traumas.” According to her, Ukrainian citizens had not harmed her in any way.

In March 2025 the Lomonosovsky District Court in Arkhangelsk remanded the young woman in pre-trial detention over posts made in a messenger app. During questioning, she admitted having considered the possibility of carrying out sabotage in Arkhangelsk Region. As a result, she was convicted under articles for public calls for terrorist activity and justification of terrorism (Part 2, Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code), public calls for extremist activity (Part 2, Article 280), and public incitement of acts against state security on the grounds of political, national or social hatred (Subsections “v” and “d,” Part 2, Article 280.4).
