A criminal case concerning alleged “military fakes” (paragraph “d,” part 2, article 207.3 of the Criminal Code) has been submitted to the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow against Grigory Sverdlin, founder of the “Idite Lesom” project. Mediazona drew attention to the case file.

The exact reason for the prosecution is unknown.

In November 2023, it became known that Sverdlin had been declared wanted. Earlier that month, he was added to the “foreign agents” register. The activist left Russia in March 2022.

  • Grigory Sverdlin launched the “Idite Lesom” project after mobilisation was announced in September 2022. The project’s channel contains the description: “We help people avoid being sent to war.” “Idite Lesom” supports those liable for mobilisation with information on routes to leave the country, tickets, and legal advice.
  • Before emigrating, Grigory Sverdlin headed the charity “Nochlezhka,” which supports homeless people. He left the organisation in 2022.
