A court in St Petersburg has ordered compulsory psychiatric treatment for a man who declared Putin wanted.

The Krasnoselsky District Court in St Petersburg has ordered compulsory psychiatric treatment for a local resident, Grigory Ivanenko, who declared Putin wanted. This was reported by the Unified Press Service of the Courts of St Petersburg.

According to investigators and the court, in April 2024 Ivanenko posted an A4 sheet on the noticeboard of the Krasnoselsky District military recruitment office, declaring the head of state wanted with a one million rouble reward (about US$11,300).

The defendant was charged under the article on hooliganism motivated by political hatred (subparagraph “b” part 1 article 213 of the Criminal Code). The criminal case has been dropped.
