A resident of Oryol region has been charged under three articles: justifying terrorism (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code), rehabilitating Nazism (Part 4 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code), and spreading “fake news” about the Russian army (Part 1 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). The regional Investigative Committee reported this.

The man was detained, and investigators have requested that he be remanded in custody. According to a press release, the detainee had made posts in which he “provided justification for a positive view of terrorists’ actions.” In May 2023, the Investigative Committee said, he published “fake news” about the war in Ukraine in one of the messenger communities, and in June of the same year he spoke negatively about Victory Day and Second World War veterans.

The man’s name has not been disclosed. He was born in 2001; the comments in question were published on Telegram, reports “Info Orel.” The detainee has not admitted guilt.
