The entrepreneur and political emigrant Yevgeny Chichvarkin has been declared wanted by the authorities. Mediazona found a record for him in the Ministry of Internal Affairs database.

It is not yet known which article Chichvarkin is being prosecuted under.

In 2022, the entrepreneur was included in the list of “foreign agents,” and in 2023 the “Russian Action Committee,” which Chichvarkin co-founded, was recognised as an “undesirable” organisation. The Gagarinsky District Court in Moscow twice fined the businessman for failing to submit a “foreign agent” report (part 2, article 19.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences), while the Dorogomilovsky District Court—once for involvement in the “undesirable” organisation Free Russia Forum (article 20.33 of the Code of Administrative Offences).

On 17 September, the Dorogomilovsky District Court in Moscow arrested Yevgeny Chichvarkin in absentia. This was reported by the press service of the Moscow courts.

The entrepreneur is accused of “discrediting” the Russian army (point “d” part 2 article 207.3 of the Criminal Code) and failure to fulfil “foreign agent” obligations (part 2 article 330.1 of the Criminal Code). He has been placed on an international wanted list, according to RIA Novosti.
