Restrictions on certain activities have been imposed on Darya Chernysheva, executive director of the Revolt Centre in Syktyvkar, a city in northern European Russia, and former staff member of 7×7, as a preventive measure in a case concerning alleged evasion of “foreign agent” duties (Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by Mediazona.

She has been banned from communicating with witnesses in the case, staff of the Revolt Centre and 7×7, and from being at their places of residence. In addition, Chernysheva is prohibited from being at the Revolt Centre, using the internet and telephone, and from receiving or sending postal correspondence.

Chernysheva’s detention became known on 9 July. Before the preventive measure court hearing, she was held in a temporary detention facility. She is accused of evading the duty to submit documents required for inclusion in the “foreign agent” register.

Chernysheva herself has not been designated a “foreign agent.” However, in 2023, the 7×7 publication was added to the list; she collaborated with them until 2022. Chernysheva stopped working with the publication in 2022, but despite this, she is listed in the register as a project participant. Over the past year, she has been fined three times for administrative offences relating to the lack of labelling (Article 19.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences).
