The head of the Suzdal Initiative NGO and lawyer Nikita Demyanov has been fined 500,000 roubles (approx. US$5,500) in a case concerning donations to the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK). This was reported by the news outlet Chesnok, citing the FSB.
The sentence was handed down by the Leninsky District Court of Vladimir on 10 July. The man was found guilty under the article on financing an extremist organisation (Part 1, Article 282.3 of the Criminal Code). According to investigators, Demyanov made seven money transfers to an American bank account of the FBK “for the preparation and commission of crimes of an extremist nature.”
The case was brought before the court in May.
