An opponent of the “Car-Free Courtyard” project has been detained in Moscow.

In the Marfino district of Moscow, security forces have detained an opponent of the “Car-Free Courtyard” project. This was reported by Activatica and the Telegram channel “Save Our Main RAS Tsytsin Botanical Garden”.

The woman demanded to see documents for the “improvements,” and was detained as a result. Her underage daughter was left alone outside during the incident.

• The “Car-Free Courtyard” project, run by the authorities, is being carried out without the necessary documentation or the consent of local residents. Activists have pointed out that it deprives residents of the use of their own courtyards. As an alternative to courtyard parking, the authorities have offered parking along the railway, but according to local residents, it was already “packed” even before the project began. Additionally, activists believe the authorities intend to create a paid parking lot for visitors to the nearby Botanical Garden. Protesters have gathered over 1,500 signatures.
