A 35-year-old resident of Kurgan, a city in the Urals, was detained after dancing at a memorial complex for soldiers from the Trans-Urals who died in combat, reported the press service of the regional Russian Interior Ministry.
The video of the dance appeared on social media over the weekend. “In the shortest possible time, detectives from Police Department No. 1 of the Russian Interior Ministry for Kurgan and the Centre for Combating Extremism of the Russian Interior Ministry for Kurgan Region were able to identify this person,” said the official police press release. The authorities also published a video of the detained woman apologising. According to her, she was drunk at the time.
The police have not yet announced the opening of a criminal case, but promised to “give a legal assessment” of the dance.
