The Russian Ministry of Justice has designated journalist Pavel Kanygin’s “To be continued” project and economist Andrey Movchan as “foreign agents.” This was announced on the Ministry’s website.

The following people were also added to the register:

  • Mikhail Doliev, a political scientist from Astrakhan (in southern Russia);
  • Oksana Mysina, actress, director and producer;
  • Andrey Sivenok, an activist and journalist from Novosibirsk (a major city in Siberia).

According to the Ministry of Justice, the “To be continued” project spread “false information” about the actions of the Russian authorities, opposed the war in Ukraine, and “promoted LGBT relationships.” The Ministry of Justice also designated Pavel Kanygin, editor-in-chief of “To be continued,” as a “foreign agent” in April 2023.

In addition, the Ministry accused Mikhail Doliev, Andrey Movchan and Oksana Mysina of spreading information “aimed at creating a negative image” of the Russian Armed Forces. According to the Ministry, they also opposed the war with Ukraine and participated in the activities of organisations designated as “undesirable” in Russia. The Ministry of Justice did not specify the names of the organisations in any of the three cases.

The Ministry claims that Andrey Sivenok participated in content produced by “foreign agents” and worked with them, as well as “spreading false information” about politics in Russia and its electoral system.
