In the Marfino district of Moscow, several people were detained for obstructing the redevelopment of the courtyard near the “Novoe Marfino” residential complex. The detentions were reported on his Telegram channel by Sergei Mitrokhin, a member of the Yabloko party and a deputy of the Moscow City Duma.
The number and names of those detained are unknown. They were reportedly taken to the local police station.
Residents of “Novoe Marfino” have been opposing the construction works in the courtyard for over a month, which the prefecture of the North-Eastern Administrative District describes as improvement. These works were not agreed upon with the owners of the nearby flats. According to local residents, the redevelopment and the use of heavy machinery have resulted in trees and shrubs being felled, damage to parts of the building, and lawns being covered in concrete.
As reported by Activatica, on 10 August police detained several people interfering with the works. One woman had to seek medical attention following a rough arrest.
