On 13 August, the Central District Military Court sentenced Natalia Chubukova, a resident of Izhevsk, a city in the Udmurt Republic, to a fine of 150,000 roubles (approximately US$1,650) in a case concerning calls to terrorism online (part 2, article 205.2 of the Criminal Code). Her son informed OVD-Info of the decision.

Initially, the woman was fined 400,000 roubles (around US$4,400), but the amount was later reduced on account of her being under house arrest since September 2024.

The case against Chubukova was initiated because of a comment she posted in the group “Angry Izhevsk Resident” on 29 October 2021. She had expressed her views on the restrictions in place during the coronavirus pandemic.

The case reached the court in February 2025, but the first hearing was only held in April. The court considered the case over four hearings.
