The Rodniki District Court in the Ivanovo region has banned bakery companies linked to the Latvian Normunds Bomis and the Ukrainian Tetiana Prykhodko, as well as a Latvian fundraising platform, from operating in Russia “due to extremist activities.” This was reported by the press service of the Ivanovo region courts.

The ban affects Bomis’s bakery company SIA “Lielezers,” registered in Limbaži, a town in Latvia, and Prykhodko’s Ukrainian companies, his business partner: ТОВ “Rizkyi Khlib” and ТОВ “Khlibnyi Hurmán”. The court also ordered that half the charter capital of “Rizkyi Khlib” LLC, registered in the Ivanovo region, be turned over to the state—this share belonged to Bomis.

The Prosecutor General’s Office filed the lawsuit in July for the confiscation of Bomis’s share and the ban on the companies linked to him, as reported by Kommersant. According to the outlet, the reason was the entrepreneur’s support for the Ukrainian army after the start of the full-scale war. The prosecution says that Bomis donated over US$36,800 to support the “Azov” regiment, called on EU residents to support Ukrainian units, and opened a social centre for the rehabilitation of Ukrainian service personnel who had fought with the Russian army. Kommersant reports that in 2022, the Latvian demanded that his partner, with whom he had set up a business in the Ivanovo region, cease operations and sell the assets, but his partner refused.

According to the prosecution, Prykhodko “publishes information discrediting the authorities and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, while ‘glorifying’ the actions of members of Ukrainian terrorist formations.”

In addition, the Rodniki court declared information on the website of the Latvian foundation “Ziedot.lv” prohibited for distribution in Russia. The site is set to be blocked. This is a platform for collecting donations for various causes, including fundraising for the Ukrainian army.
