Blogger and entrepreneur Nikita Yefremov has been charged with funding extremism (Part 1, Article 282.3 of the Russian Criminal Code) and has been placed under restrictions on certain activities, the press service of the Ostankinsky Court in Moscow reported.
As Mash writes, Yefremov was detained at Sheremetyevo Airport, Moscow, on his way from Turkey a few days ago, in connection with a criminal case over funding the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK). According to investigators, from September 2021 to February 2022 he made six transfers of 1,000 roubles each (about US$11 per transfer).
Yefremov is the founder of the NE chain of multi-brand stores, having started by reselling Kanye West and Michael Jordan trainers. Two years ago, the police carried out searches at his showrooms in Moscow and St Petersburg after allegations emerged that counterfeit goods were being sold in the store, and he left Russia.
