The 22-year-old owner of “Tochka,” a club in Chita, a major city in eastern Siberia, who is accused of involvement in the non-existent “International LGBT Movement,” has had her house arrest replaced with restrictions on certain activities, reports “Chita.ru.” This was shared with journalists by the press office of the Ingodinsky District Court.
The young woman, who is being charged with organising extremist activity (Article 282.2, part 1 of the Criminal Code), had been under house arrest since the end of October 2024. She will now be able to leave her home during set hours, but she is prohibited from speaking on the phone or using the internet.
Last autumn, law enforcement officers and activists from the ultra-right movement “Russian Community” carried out a raid at the “Tochka” club.
“An LGBT community (an organisation recognised as extremist on the territory of the Russian Federation) was identified and shut down right in the city centre. In the basement behind an iron door, with a guest verification system, sodomites held their shows and orgies,” stated a message from the “Russian Community” (original spelling preserved).
After the raid, the 22-year-old owner of the club was detained on criminal charges of organising an extremist group. The Investigative Committee claims that she organised the club “with the aim of promoting the ideology of an international civic association banned on the territory of the Russian Federation and increasing its numbers.”
“Chita.ru” reported that admission to “Tochka” was only possible for a fee and through face control. Inside, there was a bar and a dance floor. Drag artists sometimes performed at the club. There was a drag show taking place on the day law enforcement arrived at the venue.
