The Ministry of Justice has added two European human rights organisations to the register of “undesirable” organisations.

The Ministry of Justice has added the Belgian organisation ProtectDefenders.eu (“Protect Defenders EU”) and the international Civic Solidarity Platform to the register of “undesirable organisations,” according to a notice published on the ministry’s website.

Protect Defenders EU provides support to human rights defenders facing persecution because of their work. The coalition is made up of 12 European NGOs that operate in the field of human rights protection.

The Civic Solidarity Platform brings together 110 non-governmental organisations from 31 countries, working to implement the principles of the Helsinki Final Act and OSCE commitments. The platform also reports on violations of the rights of Ukrainian refugees in Russia and the persecution of human rights defenders.
