Mykola Lenitskyi, a resident of Kherson region, has been sentenced to seven years in prison on charges of spreading “fake news” about the Russian army (Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Russian Criminal Code). This was reported by TASS, with the story being highlighted by the “Support for Political Prisoners. Memorial” project.

He is also banned from administering websites and publishing content online for three years.

According to investigators, the resident of the urban-type settlement of Velyka Lepetykha “called on local residents to ignore Russian laws” and held “pro-Ukrainian views.” The case was initiated over a post in which Lenitskyi wrote that, to discredit the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Russian army struck a settlement in Bryansk region, resulting in civilian casualties.
