The Second Eastern District Military Court has sentenced Andrey Dyukin, a resident of Krasnoyarsk Krai (a region in Siberia), to 10 years’ imprisonment in the “Artpodgotovka” case. This was reported by the court’s press service.

Dyukin was found guilty of financing extremist activity (Part 1, Article 282.3 of the Russian Criminal Code) and facilitating terrorism (Part 1.1, Article 205.1). According to the official version, since 2016, he had viewed online materials posted by “Artpodgotovka,” and since 2019, “dissatisfied with the domestic and foreign policies of the Russian Federation, Dyukin began to finance the activities of this community through its leader, Maltsev V.V.” The press release notes that the convicted man knew that since 2017, “Artpodgotovka” had been designated as an extremist organisation. In 2021, the movement was also declared a “terrorist” organisation; “however, Dyukin, still sharing the ideas of the participants and the organiser of what had by then become a terrorist community, continued to finance its activities.”

The sentence was handed down on 25 August. For three years, Andrey Dyukin will serve his sentence in prison, and the remainder of the term in a strict regime penal colony.

  • On 5 November 2017, in various cities across Russia, supporters of Vyacheslav Maltsev, who runs the popular YouTube channel “Artpodgotovka,” took to the streets—Maltsev had promised that there would be a revolution that day. As a result, according to OVD-Info, criminal cases were opened in 10 cities against at least 35 people, including on terrorism-related charges.
