An engineer from Yekaterinburg, a major city in the Urals, has been fined 300,000 rubles (US$3,300) for making donations to the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK).

The Ordzhonikidzevsky District Court in Yekaterinburg, a major city in the Urals, has fined a 45-year-old engineer 300,000 rubles (approximately US$3,250) on charges of financing an extremist organisation (Part 1 of Article 282.3 of the Criminal Code). Mediazona reports this.

The man fully admitted guilt. The prosecution had asked for a fine of 650,000 rubles (about US$7,050).

The criminal case was prompted by donations totalling 2,100 rubles (about US$23) that the man sent to the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK). The court also ordered this amount to be confiscated in favour of the state. Equipment seized during a search and the bank card are to be returned to the convicted individual.
