A journalist from the “Agency” has been arrested in absentia on unknown criminal charges.

The Central District Court of Chita has arrested in absentia journalist Andrei Zatirko from “The Agency.” This was reported by “Chita.ru.”

It is not known under which article Zatirko is being prosecuted. He believes the case may be linked to his investigation into the secret family of Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov.

In December 2023, Zatirko was added to the register of “foreign agents.” The Ministry of Justice explained that the journalist had spoken out against the war. In February 2024, Zatirko was charged under the article for lack of “foreign agent” labelling (part 4, article 19.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences). In February 2025, the journalist was declared wanted.
