On 15 September, the Oktyabrsky District Court in Saransk fined a 33-year-old IT company employee 400,000 roubles (approximately US$4,300) for donating to the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK). This was reported by the Sova research centre.
The man was found guilty of financing extremist activity (Part 1, Article 282.3 of the Russian Criminal Code). The reason for the criminal prosecution was three donations made to FBK in August, September and October 2021. The total amount was 3,000 roubles (about US$32).
