Seyran Khayredinov, a Crimean resident sentenced to 12 years in prison, has complained of deteriorating dental health and a flare-up of eczema in Vladimir Central Prison. This was reported by Crimean Solidarity, citing his wife, Zarema Khayredinova.
According to her, after his eczema worsened, Khayredinov sought medical help from the prison doctor and was prescribed treatment. However, his family had to send him the medication as the colony did not provide it.
In addition, Khayredinov is experiencing dental problems. The nature of these issues is not specified in the Crimean Solidarity publication.
The Crimean Tatar says he may be transferred from the prison soon. He arrived at the facility on 9 January this year. After his transfer, as reported by human rights defenders, he suffered an allergy flare-up “due to nervous stress.”
In May 2023, the Southern District Military Court sentenced Seyran Khayredinov to 12 years in prison for involvement in the work of the banned organisation Hizb ut-Tahrir (Part 2, Article 205.5 of the Russian Criminal Code). Other defendants in the case—Aleksandr Sizikov and Alim Sufyanov—were sentenced to 17 and 12 years, respectively. Throughout the investigation and trial, Khayredinov was held in a remand centre.
On 13 September 2024, the Military Appeals Court in Vlasikha upheld the convictions for the group of Crimean Muslims.
