A cosplayer from Chita, a city in eastern Siberia, has been charged over an erotic image depicting Jesus.

In Chita, a major city in eastern Siberia, security forces detained a cosplayer over an image posted in a Telegram channel featuring their drawings, which has 85 subscribers. The person’s brother told OVD-Info about the incident.

The case is being handled by the third department for investigation of especially important cases in the Investigative Committee for the Zabaikalsky Krai region.

The reason for the prosecution was an image depicting oral sex. In the image, the penis is covered by a depiction of Jesus, which was also used in the meme: Heard you, mate, fuck off.

The young person’s channel was open to the public, publishing furry and erotic images. Security forces asserted that there were minors among the subscribers and threatened the detainee with charges of distributing pornography (part 2, article 242 of the Criminal Code).

After a search and interrogation, the cosplayer was released on an undertaking not to leave the area. At present, they are only facing charges under the article on insulting the feelings of believers (article 148 of the Criminal Code).
