The Leninsky District Court in Perm has sentenced the singer Ekaterina to 60 hours of compulsory work over a concert in support of the group “stoptime.” This was reported by human rights defender Artyom Faizulin.
She was charged under the article on organising a mass gathering resulting in a breach of public order (Art. 20.2.2 of the Administrative Code), due to a concert held on Esplanada Square, which the singer organised on 22 October together with other musicians to support participants of “stoptime.”
The artist was detained on 1 November after a report from a man who claimed he missed his bus because of the concert. On 3 November, the court arrested her for seven days under the article for refusing to undergo a drug intoxication medical test (Art. 6.9.1 of the Administrative Code). If there are no new charges, she is due to be released from the detention centre on 8 November.
The woman reported that after her detention, the police at the Leninsky police station treated her roughly. During questioning, she said she was pushed, fell to her knees and sustained bruises. She plans to file complaints about the police officers’ actions.
