Timofey Mokhnenko has been released—he was prosecuted over posts about the war in Ukraine. This was reported by Mediazona, citing lawyer Nataliya Tikhonova.

The Donetsk native and employee of an oncology centre was charged under statutes for justifying terrorism and inciting hatred. According to the official version, Mokhnenko wrote: “I don’t think they’ll hold Avdiivka, but as a resident of the Budyonnovsky district of Donetsk, I’m really asking the Ukrainian Armed Forces: hit them hard in the city. There are as many of their barracks and training centres here as there are cockroaches.” Timofey himself did not admit guilt, stating that his phone had been hacked.

Timofey spent about a year and a half in pre-trial detention. Mokhnenko’s sentence was handed down in July this year. However, the lawyer declined to reveal exactly what penalty he received.
