The Syktyvkar City Court has fined rapper Gio Pika 10,000 roubles (approximately US$110) under the article on incitement of hatred (Article 20.3.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences). This was announced by the Komi Prosecutor’s Office.

“A man who writes songs on criminal themes and performs under the name Gio Pika posted a musical composition on the VKontakte social network that negatively assessed a group of people united by the characteristic ‘law enforcement officers,’ using explicit and strong language,” the Prosecutor’s Office release said.

The outlet Baza reports that the song “Black Zone” was the reason for the charge. It contains the following lyrics: “The black zone is somewhere in a black forest / Beneath the creak of iron bunks / Here the cops will chicken out / They come in when signalled / Just to find something out / There’s no place for snitches here / There’s no life for batons here.”
