A resident of Karachay-Cherkessia, a region in the North Caucasus, has been sentenced to 15 days in detention over comments about Putin.

The Khabez District Court in Karachay-Cherkessia, a region in the North Caucasus, has sentenced local resident Mukharab Shebzukhov to 15 days in detention over comments about Vladimir Putin posted in several groups on VKontakte. SOTA drew attention to this information on the court’s website.

The court ruled that Shebzukhov insulted the social group “Russians” and the President of Russia in his comments. The court decision cited the following phrases: “he destroys young people,” “Putin is sending you off to slaughter like pigs,” “just destroying the young nation,” “like cancer to Shanghai,” “feeds you like puppies,” “like pigs to the slaughter.”

The comments were discovered by officers from Centre ‘E’ (the Centre for Combating Extremism).
