According to the outlet, searches are taking place at multiple addresses under the article concerning the organisation of the activities of an extremist organisation. The publishing house’s general director, Evgeny Kapyev, has been detained.

The investigative actions are linked to the so-called “publishers’ case”—nearly a year ago, in May 2025, law enforcement carried out mass searches at the homes of staff from Eksmo, Popcorn Books, and Individuum in an extremism case concerning the distribution of books by Popcorn Books. At that time, the sales directors of Popcorn Books and Individuum, Pavel Ivanov, warehouse manager Artyom Vakhlyaev, and executive director Dmitry Protopopov were placed under house arrest.
