Rada Russkikh said that she was detained, beaten, and that attempts were made to arrest her for the entire duration of the elections.

Blogger Rada Russkikh stated that she was beaten during her detention in St Petersburg. She shared this after her release in stories on Instagram.

According to Russkikh, she was detained before the start of voting in the State Duma elections and kept overnight at a police station. She claims they wanted to keep her under arrest for all three days of voting, but she was released after a day.

I spent 24 hours in a ‘monkey cage,’ it was a wild story. They tried to hold me for the whole election, but they managed to ‘get me out’ after a day. It was like an action film in there—they didn’t hit me too hard, and I managed to ‘give everyone a hard time’ too, said Russkikh.

The Leninsky District Court in St Petersburg gave Russkikh a one-day administrative arrest under the article on displaying extremist symbols (Art. 20.3 of the Administrative Offences Code). The reason was the posting on social media of satanist movement symbols, which Russian authorities consider extremist.

In 2024, Russkikh tried to run as a self-nominated candidate for President of Russia. To register, she needed to collect 300,000 signatures, but did not manage to gather the required number.
