Dzhemali Gogoli, a member of the “Yuzhnaya” Territorial Election Commission in Novorossiysk, a city on the Black Sea coast, has been detained for 10 days “over a case dating back two years,” according to a report on the Telegram channel “Novorossiysk Elections 2026.”
The Communist Party of the Russian Federation believes the case is linked to his stance on protecting fair elections and considers what is happening to be an act of pressure on election observers.
